To the Keys!

I love to look through tourism brochures and websites for side-of-the-road but not too far out of the way places to include on our itineraries.  There's one such place in southwest Miami-Dade County where we went on our way to the Keys.

Robert Is Here is a fruit and vegetable stand out in farm country in South Florida.  It's more than that, though... it's a destination,  and when we were there, it was hopping!  They have all sorts of exotic produce as well as packaged products like jams, jellies, sauces. They have rescue animals. They have live music. They have a BBQ food truck. And the line for milkshakes was getting longer by the minute!

We bought 3 tomatoes which proved to be good for picnic lunches!

They also had beautiful sunflowers and orchids.

From there, we headed south to start driving to the Keys. Our target was to get to Marathon in time to go to the Crane Point Hammock Museum and Nature Trails but the morning traffic delay interfered.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Marathon which was across the road from Island Fish Company where we had our 1st post-cruise meal.

Then back to the hotel for laundry and repacking for Key West!
