This state park is not obvious as there's no big sign, just a small parking area by a foot gate to access a walking path that goes about 3 miles round trip. The state park is undergoing some restoration, but in general it's a good place to walk or ride a bike, and just enjoy nature.
There were a few wildflowers, but mostly plants and grasses.
We didn't see much wildlife, but I startled a snake that was off in the bushes at the side of the path, and he startled me! DH said he didn't know I could jump that high or that far! I didn't see it, but he went to look at what had rustled. Needless to say. I spent the next 5 minutes loudly narrating my every move so any other snakes lurking nearby would avoid me.
There was a nice pond that the trail looped around but you could only see if for about 25% of the loop.
It was a bit chilly when we started out, low 60's, but halfway through, we could take off our jackets. We would not want to walk this path in the summer or with higher temperatures or humidity, but it was a nice way to spend part of the morning.
