Hemingway House

I'm not sure I ever read a Hemingway novel. In fact, I don't really know much about him except he did some of his writing in Key West, he was married multiple times, and he loved fishing. But after spending an hour or so on a guided tour of his home on Whitehead Street, I felt like I knew much more.

The Hemingway House was just a short walk from our hotel and is located across from the Key West Lighthouse that was also on our agenda for the day. The story goes that when Hemingway finished drinking at Sloppy Joe's, he would look for the light to find his way home.

Guided tours are included with admission.  We would recommend getting there at opening time as it was super busy when we left just an hour later.

The tour included the downstairs rooms, the upstairs bedroom and porch, and the swimming pool.  We could see the writing studio on our own.  We took a lot of pictures, but the gift shop has a book which of course has better ones.  Here are some of ours.

And here are some #flowersmakemehappy from the walk to the Hemingway House!
