We planned to spend a morning exploring the Sleeping Bear National Dunes just outside of Glen Arbor, Michigan, so on the recommendation of a friend, we made a reservation at the Homestead Resort there. Because it was early in the season, we were able to make a one-night reservation in the Fiddler's Pond area.
The room was comfortable with plenty of space. Here are some pictures of the room and around the resort area.
We asked a few folks about where to eat dinner. The pickings were slim, but they all said go to Art's. It's a cash only bar and grill place that was pretty good.
Next to Art's was an art place and outside they had a Lost Soles pole full of shoes.
It was nearly closing time, but we went into the Cherry Republic for a quick look around, but didn't buy anything. They were already packing things up for the night so we didn't even get to sample anything. But we didn't want to wait around until the next morning to be able to go back.
We didn't have much time in Glen Arbor area, but it was a nice place to stay overnight. And it has easy access to the Sleeping Bear National Dunes.
