The grounds of the Joslyn Castle (Omaha, Nebraska)

Just across the street from the Offutt Manor in Omaha is the Joslyn Castle.  This historic home belonged to noted philanthropists George and Sarah Joslyn.  They offer tours of the house occasionally, but the grounds are open and free to walk around throughout the day.  We didn't have the opportunity to tour the castle, but we did explore the grounds and exterior of the castle the morning we were leaving Omaha.

Here are some pictures from our morning stroll.

This is one of the things I wanted to do on this trip - not the Joslyn Castle specifically, but stop and see things along the way because they catch our attention.  We were headed to Iowa for the day with our first stop not opening until 10 AM, so we didn't have to leave early.  But like most days on this trip, especially the days we've been in Central time zone, we've been up and ready early.  It was such a beautiful morning, too, with temperatures in the high 50s and, as you can see, clear skies!
